sv360 p issues

when i switch channels i get no servicem the only way to get the channel up is if i go to menu, dish settings and exit. aswell sometimes when i do so the reciever boots by itself. I've just installed all new cables and a switch and the problems still occur

Re: sv360 p issues

Try doing a factory reset and then rescan and see if that helps. If it doesn't load a factory file then reload the latest bin. I haven't come across this particular problem but doing what I've said here usually fixes little issues like this. What seems to be happening is that the iHub isn't communicating with the server and needs to be refreshed, I assume that if you went to ipconfig and hit apply it would have the same effect.

Like I was saying last night it's not going to hurt to play around with the ipconfig settings as long as you remember how to change them back. If your DNS ip isn't 192.168.1.1 change it to that, maybe it will help. Also in the user settings there's an option called "used priority" set that to "ihub" instead of "both". Since nobody is running cardless that's the appropraite setting, though I can't say for sure that it really helps.

Do you think this is a ihub problem. i did a sys clean and everything is working great, but 91 works for 15 mins and then i get no signal. if i check signal S 99 and Q85. I am using original LNB for 91. I am curious if my setting are wrong for 91

Re: sv360 p issues

Some tp's are stronger than others on 91. Do you have anything in the way like a tree or anything? How's the weather?

Post all your settings from your setup screen. I'll see if I can notice any problems. Are you saying the signal goes to zero and won't come back until you go to the setup screen? Or are you saying it goes to "no service or scrambled"?

My suspicion is that you are experiencing freezing which is very normal at this point. It will gradually get better. I just change the channel and then change it back when it happens.

Re: sv360 p issues

You mentioned you recabled your dish and got a new switch. Was that because you were having this same problem and thought it might fix it? Or did this just start after the new switch and cables?

Nothing obvious is wrong with your settings. It's possible it could be a bad LNB, but I can't say for sure. If you have another one you could try then switch it out and see if it's any better.

Re: sv360 p issues

I have had that problem as well. b4 and after the ihub. Channel 100 comes in (echo 8) as does ION (echo 7) so I am confident of sat aim. connections good... Now no transponder ever has any quality... new lnb on the way. I have a feeling...

Re: sv360 p issues

Hey Beeker, I have I guess a similar 'problem' if I channel up or down too much ie 4 times I lose everything and have to turn off and back on. so instead I go to the program guide and see what I want to watch and double click the program on the guide that works fine, but maybe I should rescan anyway.

Re: sv360 p issues

That's a flaw or a safety measure in the SV bin programming. I get the same thing on my 8000. Don't think there's much that can be done. I think the server times out when you access it too many times in a row. It's seems like a safety precaution on SV's part to help the server load. In case someone sits on their remote and doesn't notice..... I dunno.

Re: sv360 p issues

New lnb here. now able to get channels I was missing. No more need to check sig Q to lock in station. Worked great for about an hour. Now back to original no quality problem. Looks now like it may be the receiver. Anyone ever return a sonicview?

It's not the receiver,I use to get same problem before with the quality,I usually had to play with the Lnb Power to get the quality back. Now everything seems to work fine since I moved to my new home.Sometime the lnb has to be replaced to fix it.
