How to set up the Showmex2 Dongle and the Sonysat DCR 5500 PVR thanx goes to tech07 for this useful post How to for the - ShowmeX2 Dongle and the Sonysat DVR 5500 PVR using the Wiz100SR/105SR/110SR Configuration Tool V 2.1.0 You use this Loader to Setup up your SHowme-X2 Dongle. This is the procedure that must be used, please do not deviate from it. Your STB should have Satellites set up and scanned as per our Guides. Click on CH 100 and 213, if you have picture proceed, if not, then setup and scan in channels before proceeding. Once the STB is ready do the following: 1) Power up receiver and load the Latest IKS Beta Cyclops File via the USB port and USB Stick. 2) Connect the X2 Dongle to SS DCR5500 with a Serial Straight thru 9 pin Cable and the Cat 5 Cable from X2 Dongle to Router, any Port. 3) Install and run this Wiznet loader, the WIZ1x_105SR Loader and be ready to click on the Search Option. 4) Reboot STB (Turn off rear Switch, count 10Sec and turn Sw ON) and quickly do the next step. 5) As soon as you Reboot click the Search Option with in 7-10 sec of rebooting). It must say Progressing (bars move to the right) Once Completed, Close window. You should see Ver 1.3 at top left and Connected at the right. IPs should appear as should the Server IP and Port 90. 6) Click on the Upload option, find load the latest rom.bin file. It must say Progressing (bars move to the right) Once Completed Close window. Please note: For SS DCR 5500 PVR STBS, the Serial Transfer speed must be 9600 And clicking the Serial Option of the Wiznet you must see this Speed: 9600 Databit: 8 Parity: None Stop Bit: 1 Flow: None Now proceed to the TV remote set up, a) Press Menu, 9999 b) CAS Mode: X2 c) Network Setup: OK d) Network info, DHCP: e) Press OK, OK and IPs should appear as well as Port 500 at the bottom settings. f) Scroll down and at the Set Network info, Press OK g) Place on CH 300 and wait for Picture Take note: Once Step 5 is done you should see your Local IP, Mask and Gateway, Plus Server IP and Port assigned to your connection. If you do not see these then start with Step 3 again till you see the Ips. Caution: Please do not click on any of the PPV Channels including any PPV Sports as these are not supported yet.
