Impedance in LNBF
I have a LNBF (new, never used) that i got some month ago I suspect is bad because that the lnb gets power but not quality (mis function) , i am very sure that i get a good aligment but the quality is 0. I have a very good footprint for band c in g16 and stmx6
The model is BSC421, its impedance is 75 ohm according the spec. I don know if my readings are correct that is .22Mohms . My question is: Do my readings are normal or I will must read 75ohms? Thanks for you help. Regards |

Re: Impedance in LNBF
The satfinder found a signal, if i use a lnb/ku, quality is ok. If i change to lnbf for c band the power is 100% and the quality is 0%.
I am using a offset 1.2m and a conical scalar ring for the lnbf. Last edited by vicrivas : 07-11-2009 at 06:52 PM. |

It sounds like you're trying to measure the impedance of the output on the LNB with a common Volt/Ohm meter. If this is the case... you will not see 75 ohms but probably something on the order of 16 to 20 thousand ohms. This will not really tell you much. If you discover that you do see anything even close to 75 ohms this would indicate a faulty device. If you see a completely open circuit this is also not a good sign. If this is not what you are doing then disregard everything I said. Good luck |

Re: Impedance in LNBF
I think that I will must use a RCL for that reading, is not?. My readings are around 22K, then i think that it is ok.
