Viewsat MaxHD Missing Channels

Anyone got advice for a newbe? I am receiving channels from echostar 7 119 - about 70 or so. But I am missing many. Don't really know much about what I am doing so any help would be great.

What is your current Antenna setting?

Re: Viewsat MaxHD Missing Channels

so now your gonna know how much i don't know about what i'm doing.
bought a new house that had a dish on the roof. pretty much just bought a maxhd and plugged it in and hook it up the the dish. it's pointed pretty much due south.
it has 4 cables going into the dish and looks like 3 lbn's (but I don't know what kind) i'm getting a 100 on the signal and 65 on quality on echostar 7 119. maybe you could direct me on how to educate myself so i can ask relevant questions.

Go check if it's a Phase 3 Direct Tv dish.

If it is then you won't get all the channel with that dish.

Here is a pic:

You will have to modify the dish to get lucky but I don't recommend you to do so.

Just buy a dish pro with dish pro lnb, that way you will get both 119w and 110w.

You can buy a dish pro plus or dish 1000+ to get 110,119 and 129.

Most of HD channel are on 129.

I think 110w has some HD channel also.

By the way to get those HD channel, you will need to add an 8PSK Module to the receiver to be able to view those HD channel.
