Ive noticed that my ultra vs-2000 has been doing funny things.
woodcreeker said to download a couple virgin reset files, i did,
& ive still got these 2 problems, (they might be something i just have to deal with, can anyone tell me what causes these problems:

(1) when flipping threw channels, it dont change in order,
you will be flippin threw the 500's channels, and it will flip to channel 111 or a similar channel for no reason at all?

(2) I set my settings, as they are recommended for me,
and when i shut off my box by the back main power switch,
all the settings change to crazy settings that make my Q & S bad signal, & also i'll have to rescan chan's because it deletes all the channels!

its aggravating ive done everything i could think of I dont know what to do. let me know if you have any ideas that will fix the problems.

Have you sorted by sid? or chose the "Echo package?

Not sure why you want to turn it off from the back power switch.

There is another solution that you may want to try, load the factory bin three times and after each time put the settings to factory default. I'm not kidding you have to do it three times in a row and I don't know why but it can help. After the last flash, you can now load the last bin provided and do what boboisno! said.

LOL, thanks yeah i have, lol and i dont make habit out of shutting it off by the back switch, but i get a lot of double channels ( individually scanning didnt help), ive found if i edit channels it has less problems, but it sometimes freezes during edit, & i have to shut it off from the back, to get back to where i left off.
And Thanks,i definitely agree, I do load them 3 time it does help a lot, but i still have those same 2 problems :*(

After you loaded the factory file did you do an auto scan for each satellite?

I think you need to reboot your receiver by doing this way. Turn ON your receiver and then unplug from the outlet for 5min. while the switch of the receiver is ON. reason is to drain all current/electric. Then let us know the result.

Ill have to get my husband to help me when he gets home from work,
my plug is behind my entertainment cabinet ive got short arms lol.
