Viewsat Ultra VS-2000 Clone Fix Repair Guide

How To Use regular Viewsat Ultra VS-2000 files on your Ultra clone.

Viewsat Ultra Clone Repair Instructions

After this repair your Viewsat Ultra Clone will take any Ultra Bin File without killing it again!




One: Remove the top cover off of the Viewsat Ultra Clone. (Shown Below)




Two: Next to the TSOP, as you can see in the picture below, look for 2 small chrome dots. They are located on the board - they are labeled R31. We are going to solder a wire to just the right Chrome Dot shown below.




Three: You are going to need 18 gauge wire approximately 12 inches long. Strip the end of the wire back about 1/4 inch. Then you are going to solder the wire to the number 2 chrome dot ( R31 ) as shown below.




Four: Make sure that the other end of the soldered wire isn’t touching anything! Then Load Factory Bin (VS2000 ULTRA Factory Bin File ~ V0119) Twice. [ The V0119 file is attached to the end of this post at the bottom ] Then load the Currently active bin. It DOES NOT MATTER IF THE BIN HAS A CLONE KILL OR NOT - JUST LOAD IT! After loading the Bin connect the 18 Gauge wire to the box (Ground it to the Receiver) as shown below. You must always have the ground connected while watching TV.




Five: Make sure that the Receiver is powered off when connecting the Satellite in (Coax Cable)
Then power the receiver select you satellite, scan your channels and Watch TV - Worry Free!!!


Six: After THIS FIX before loading any bin you MUST DISCONNECT the ground wire BEFORE Loading the NEW BIN, then AFTER LOADING THE BIN YOU MUST CONNECT THE GROUND BEFORE YOU POWER THE RECEIVER UP to watch TV.

It will make it easier, if you install a toggle or rocker switch on your receiver - so that you could switch off the ground when loading a bin then switch it back ON after installing the currently active bin.. (TOGGLE SWITCH INSTALLATION SHOWN BELOW)







Some tools you will need for this repair: Soldering Iron, Phillips Screwdriver, Tweezers or Clamp (Preferably A Locking Forceps As Pictured Below) and of course a Toggle Switch. Also a drill for making a hole for mounting a toggle switch.

Thanks for your post, I already did all of this but my viewsat don't reboot. It stays in setting mode after I do all you specify here.
A friend of mine told me that he had the same issue and a technician changed the IC that is on the yellow circle and for him it works. The problem is that in my case the IC have the identification erased, and I need to know which IC it is. If you know the ID of this IC please let me know.
