HI New to Viewsat and I need Help =]
Hi maybe someone knows me from pot from like Pansat and Coolsat but I honestly got tired of anything and decided to buy a new receiver box and I was recommended the Viewsat Ultra . Now since i got it I got a new problem. I don't know how to set it up. Is their a guide or can someone help me on how to set up a brand new Viewsat to a working condition?..

He wants to know your Dish type and LNB type. The LNBs are the "eyes" on the dish.

Follow this -> Viewsat Ultra VS-2000 Perfect Scan Method For DishPro and DishProPlus LNBs
It was written for a regular Viewsat Ultra, but it will work fine for you. Be sure you have downloaded the latest bin file for your receiver and upgraded your Viewsat Ultra Lite receiver with that file with a USB drive first. If you need help doing that you download the latest bin file, unzip the file, copy the unzipped file to your USB drive. Then use the Safe Remove icon in the lower left on your Toolbar Tray. This will avoid data corruption. Place the USB drive in your receiver's USB port. Use the remote to upgrade the software in the receiver. Menu -> System Information (password 0000) -> Receiver Upgrade -> USB hit Ok Find the file you placed on your USB drive listed there, and hit Ok to upgrade. Never ever interrupt this process. The receiver will then reboot itself. It will display things like "uSb" and "reBoot" and finally go to On, then finish at a channel number. Since you do not have channels, yet, it may show 00:00, which is fine. When nothing is happening on the display for say half a minute, then the upgrade is finished. Good Luck !!

Hey but I don't have usbi flash i only have the cable...the receiver didnt come with USB flash drive..but I did find a USB port in the front of the receiver..and yes the cable came with the reciever...
P.S: Thank you AAAFTA for the $5 discount basically payed for the shipping. =] |

Ok sorry but I ran into a problem..when I connected my receiver to the tv I dont see anything except a black screens on anything...And on the receiver display I get numbers 00.001...after time 00.02...more time...00.03...and it keep going...
Plus I haven't connected the antenna's yet or anything so what did I do wrong? |

Nothing wrong, I believe you just turn on the receiver with the remote.
 We can load the latest bin file with the null modem cable. You will need to download the Loader. It is just so much easier with a USB drive. You will find that out. USB drives are cheap, and you can find them in dollar stores.

Download that and unzip it if you haven't already.

Hi i have a question (again i know sorry im not good with this stuff). Do I need to connect the dishes to the receiver? bc my Q meter is low and I realized how can it know when the things r not connected and if so to which ports because I got two cables for my dishes and on my Coolsat one went into LNB INPUT and RF OUT.
And plus my LNB Type only has Universal and Standard there is not choice as OCS-DP Plus one more thing my S meter which is on the bottom lower left is on 80s and it said the Q is supposed to be on the bottom left but Q is on the right and it is 0 ... NOw when I started scan of Echo7 the Q went up to 90s and 80s...jumping and moving Grr sorry again...Just found that there is not Echostar 6,8 [110W] there is only Echostart 8.10 [110W] Last edited by Sanyn : 09-19-2008 at 08:53 PM. |

Ok I found a Loader2...lol..yes I know..but I tried to upload the new Fix and it is at 0% I have the right COM and I tried different coms ON the Bottom under the % bar it keep saying Status: Resending ZRQINIT...It is not moving from 0%

Okay, sorry for giving you the wrong link above, my mistake.
All you have to do is have the receiver OFF from the back, run Loader2, Open the Latest bin file release, click PC -> STB, then turn the receiver ON from the back LAST. I am not getting senile, I was just helping 3 people at once, and got some temporary confusion there.  Hope This Helps !!
