I Checked the Product information and this is what I saw:

Software Version: 1.08
Loader Version: 1.07
Satellite: U00C
Micom Version: 0.2
Last Update: Oct 08 2008

I reset everything to factory default after waiting for about one hr on channel 200.

webgraffis, redo the settings boboisno1 gave you as you mentioned that brought your S & Q up.
Make sure to have Auto Roll turned on, set to All.

Load the latest bin file.
Latest New Bin File Viewsat VS PRO VSPRO 090324A-II Improvement Fix

If your still having problems waiting for the keys to roll load the latest Opkey file.

How do I auto roll.I can't find any auto roll in VS PRO.Kindly help show me where it is located.The problem is not the S AND Q.This is right now at about 88 and 87 respectively . I have also loaded the latest bins etc. But there is still no channels.I still need help from anyone who can really help.

Go to menu, user settings then options. Scroll down to Auto Roll and press left or right arrow to change the setting to All. Exit out and tune to channel 200 and wait for channel to come in.

There is no user settings and options in Viewsat PRO RECEIVER.I checked everywhere and did not see it.If you can be more specific.Thanks for all your efforts.

I have done everything I could possibly do on this new Receiver Viewsat VS PRO.Is there anyone out that could still offer any kind of help one more time .If I can't get help I will possible return it.

Hello webgraffis I see youre software version is 1.08.you need version 090309A don`t mess with version 090324A! How are you trying to load this? with a rs232 cable or usb?

I need help updating this receiver.I have been using a USB but the version remained the same -unchanged.I have rs 232 cable but when I connected it there is no response and nothing happened.I seriously need urgent help setting this new Viewsat Receiver VS PRO up.

tell me how you are trying to update youre box? are you putting the zip drive in the front usb port?Did you go to menu-record-usb port select-,then choose front? next would be go to menu-installation-software update list(not update software) this is where I want you to tell me what youre box is showing...It should show software version 090309.All...with youre zip drive installed...let me know!...

I did all you told me but software update list is grayed out.If you point your remote on it ,nothing happens.

I am assuming you are putting youre zip drive in the front usb port?Did you go to menu-record-usb port and select front?

Follow all the below steps.

Factory Default with the remote from the menu.

Disconnect LNB cable coming IN.

Download this file --> Latest New Bin File Viewsat VS PRO VSPRO 090324A-II Improvement Fix

And this --> Viewsat VS Pro VSPRO Satinfo Sat File U00D 3-25-09
Unzip both files, and copy the unzipped files to your USB drive.

Menu -> System -> Receiver Upgrade -> USB -> select file -> Ok

Let receiver completely reboot after each file loads.

(You may have to turn the receiver back on with the remote if 00:00 comes up)

Factory Default with the remote again after eack file loads.

Now reconnect LNB cable coming in.

Resetup and rescan channels like you did with these settings ...

Echo 7 119W
LNB Power: On
LNB Type: OCS-DP
LNB Freq: 11250
22KHz: Off
TP: 12239
DiSEqC: Port 1
Motor: Off
Legacy SW: None

Echo 10,11 110W
LNB Power: On
LNB Type: OCS-DP
LNB Freq: 11250
22KHz: Off
TP: 12224
DiSEqC: Port 2
Motor: Off
Legacy SW: None

Exit out and let it autoroll, channel 200 might be best.

I wish to thank everyone for your help ,guidance and direction in setting up this receiver.Unfortunately this has not worked for me.For now I am stopping every type of setup.I will return the receiver and hopefully buy a simpler receiver.Any ideas out there for a better and simpler receiver for a Newbie like me.Your suggestions and recommendations will be highly appreciated.

Thats a shame, is it still under guarantee? Normally the Viewsat and the Sonicview are the most popular brands. Maybe yours just has a fault.

Yes I know, buddy, but 090417U is working fine as well. The problem with the new bin file is related to the new sat files coming out as well. I was asking that the files be done in the manner described to see what might need to be done next, which actually gave me an idea for a master Viewsat sticky post. Trying to not get too complicated, but sometimes the coders also want the receiver factory defaulted, load a new sat file first, and then load the new bin file. Then, of course, resetup and rescan.

I understand your approach to this as well, if it is not broke, don't fix it. I just wanted him to get all the software current, as the next file will then be just a quick flash and he will be right back up.

One thing to keep in mind here, webgraffis is all receivers have different "quirks", slightly different menus, but they generally all work the same. Once you understand what is not working correctly, or not setup properly, everything will then start working great.

One thing I omitted to tell you above is possibly you had to scan channels after doing the settings. I just figured you knew this since I thought you had an FTA receiver before. Once you Factory Default, you need to resetup and rescan channels again. The Factory Default deletes the channels.
