VS PRO channels and set-up help
First off be gentle as I am a mewbie with the FTA community and this site (up and running for 2 days). I have read almost every post here and looking for some good help. First I am running a DN 500 dish with the DN Pro dual LNB jpointed at 100 and 119. I have the 107 factory bin file and the 090502A-II fix (as of today, was running 090324 till the freezing). I followed Woodcreeker's set-up as well as trying some others but I have issues. On echo 7 I was able to recognize 119 but could't get it with the TP 12239 like everyone says to. I played around with the tp settings and found a couple to work and ended up on TP 12486 which gave me S-84 and Q-86 on echo 7. On echo 10,11 I was able to get it to recognize bird 110 with the TP 12224 with S-86 and Q-98. I have 119 on port 1 and 110 on port 2 and I am using the factory switch in the LNB head with the incominline currenlty hooked to the 110 eye (have tried both and no difference). The problem is that I appear to be missing some channels. I have many of your suggestions on channels searches and the best I am able to come up with is 105 tv channels and 47 radio on 119 and 154 tv channels on 110. I only get one ppv and missing channels like Spike which is one I was looking for. Any ideas why the TP setting of 12239 won't display 119 but other TP settings will and is this part of my problem with missing channels or doesn't it matter as long as I get the sat info to appear on the top of the screen. Sorry this was so long but wanted to cover some tracks. Look forward to your help, thanks.

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
What type of dish and LNB do you have ??
Tell me if you set this dish up yourself. Also list your settings. LNBs are called "the eyes". Check them for printing. Look for Dish Pro or big black DP letters. Maybe check over the Dish LNB section --> http://www.aaafta.com/forum/dishes-lnbs-help/ See if you figure out what LNB you are using.

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
It is a DN 500 dish with the Dish Pro LNB with the big black logo on the back. Yes I did install it myself with the help of a buddy that has done many and been up and running for a few years. my settings are:
Sat Echo 7 Echo 10,11 LNB Power on on LNB Freq. 11250 OCS-DP 11250 OCS-DP 22Khz Tone off off DiSeqC 1.0 Port 1 Port 2 DiSeqC 1.1 none none Legacy Sw none none Motor disabled disabled TP Freq. 12486 12224 I could not get a signal with 12239 on 119 but good signal with the 12486. |

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
For the 119 sat, change the TP freq to 12239. Use Auto scan to search for channels...never blind scan....that will result in duplicate channels.
It is possible that you need to load the latest sat info file to see signal on 119 using TP 12239... Also, when you scan for channels, scan one sat at a time...and tell us how many channels you get for 110, and how many for 119.... The VsPro isn't particularly picky about LNB type...you can also try changing the lnb type to Standard and see if that helps. |

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
Sounds strange. Settings are correct.
Maybe factory default it a couple of times. Load this file --> Viewsat VSPRO VS PRO New Factory Bin File V107 Factory Default with the remote from the Menu Then this --> Latest Fix New Bin File Viewsat VS PRO VSPRO 090502A-II Factory Default with the remote from the Menu Then this --> Viewsat VS Pro VSPRO Satinfo Sat File U00D 3-25-09 Factory Default with the remote from the Menu Doing that will ensure the software is all loaded correctly. You may have purchased a receiver that was on the shelf for awhile. It may have had an older factory file when you started out. Then try the Viewsat Perfect Scan Method. Read This --> Viewsat Ultra VS-2000 Perfect Scan Method For DishPro and DishProPlus LNBs It was written for an Ultra, but will work for you. The Menus are a little different, but you will get the idea there. Also be sure your meters are high. I suspect the dish may have moved. This time of year I notice this happens. Generally the Dish moves down due to gravity. Another thing on these Dish 500's is the LNB is quite heavy... So sometimes just holding it up slightly you may see a significant signal increase. When you do get quality with your TPs you used, what are the meters showing ?? Also, last quick thing, all you need to do is run one cable from the back of the receiver into the LNB on the East side. There are 2 ports on one side. There is one on the West side. The West port, or lone port is for an LNB IN. So if you are connected to that, that could be causing a problem. There also is a DiSEqC switch built into the LNB, so you do not need a DiSEqC switch connected. Even though you do not see it, it is in there. We will figure it out here. Hope All This Helps !!

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
I am pretty sure I have the latest file loaded. If I switch to 12239 I get 0 quality and 119 doesn't appear at the top of the screen. I have been using the auto scan not the blind scan. The reason I changed the TP freq is that with it set where it is I get a quality signal and it recognizes 119 with it set at 12239 it is at 0.

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
Woodcreeker, thanks for the info. I posted in respoce to HDGal and didn't read yours. I have the 107 bin file and the latest fix in right now and only running one line off the east LNB. Should I remove the files loaded and try reloading them?

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
I forgot to mention. The sat info file is loaded. I will try and reload all of them in woodcreeker's order. How and should I remove the files from the receiver?

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
Well, just redid everything and it looks like I picked up 4 more channels but still no ppv channels and some others are missing. I am new to this but my friend tells me I should be getting a lot more. I ended up with 105 channels on 119W and 158 channels on 110W.quality The confusing thing is if I use a TP Freq of 12239 on Echo 7 no info is displayed as far a recognizing 119w at the top of the screen. If I switch it to 12282,12311,12370,12399 etc. which is every other one than I get quality around 86 percent on 119W. If I run it at 12239 it is at 0 quality and nothing appears at the top of the screen. I have it set as per Woodcreeker's set-up on both 110w and 119w but the only thing that is different is the TP on 119W at 12282 in order to get any quality and sat reading. I also did the "perfect scan method" as described. The only thing different there is that I can not turn LNB power off to one sat. It is either all on or all off. Any ideas on missing channels. Thanks.

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
Sat 119W is signal 84% and quality bounces between 84%-86%.
Sat 110W is signal 86% and quality bounces between 93%-99% |

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
Very strange.
Are you sure when you are in the Antenna Settings for 119W that 119W pops up on top ? Also when you are in the 110W settings, 110W pops up on top ? The same satellite name should appear there as the satellite you are setting up. They have to match.

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
Try changing the lnb type to JUST LNB FREQ 11250 and rescan.
You should be able to scan in the channels that are N3 but you won't be able to view them. As I said before, the VSPRO isn't picky with the LNB type. I have Legacy LNB's and almost every setting would find channels, but I found that OCS-DP worked best (go figure). Mess around and see what you come up with... Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
You are not get Quality on the Horizontal Tp's on 110w and 119 that's why you are getting only half of the channel.
Make sure all connection from Lnb to receiver are properly hooked. If you use to get all the channel before with the same setting which you mentioned then try download the previous working file for your receiver then do the scanning again and see if you get all the channel back,if you get all the channel back then just download the latest file again. If still no luck then there must be something wrong somewhere.

Re: VS PRO channels and set-up help
It is not that I have lost channels I have never had them. I am new to this and this is my first receiver and it has only been going for 2 days now. I have all the latest files as per Woodcreeker and I am gettng channels just not all of them. When I say not getting them I mean they just don't load with a scan not that I can see them in the guide and they don't work, they are not there. I don't know what all channels I am missing but for example, no Spike, PPV's, Weather channel and things like that. Even my buddy that has been into this for a few years says I am missing alot of channels but he was out of ideas also that is why I am here. HDGAL, I tryed going to 11250 and lost 4 channels so I am in the process of rescanning with the original set-up.
