Channel 193 (Science channel gone from map)
Hello all:
Can anyone offer advice as to manually discovering or adding channel 193 (science channel) to VS Pro unit? I had it there and watched it for months, then after a bin update, noticed it was gone. I have not been able to even come across it under any scan methods. Do you still have ch 193? |

Re: Channel 193 (Science channel gone from map)
Solidbrass: I believe that data is wrong. Echostar 8 is 77 degrees. It's Echostar 10, and I know the TP specs, the problem is that I cannot figure out the best scan method to use and how if any edits to TP, etc. regarding VSPro

Re: Channel 193 (Science channel gone from map)
Part of it was a typo. It is EchoStar 6,8 sat 110w and TPs as I said. Sorry if I mislead you.

Re: Channel 193 (Science channel gone from map)
Write down your antenna settings first.
Do a Factory Default and try the perfect scan method, you should get the channel back. Read about that here --> Viewsat Ultra VS-2000 Perfect Scan Method For DishPro and DishProPlus LNBs It was written for an Ultra, but this method will work for you. Use your settings if they are different from the above scanning method. Echo 8, Echo 10, Echo 11 are all the same satellite for 110W. Many receivers show different Satellite names for this satellite. True Echo 6 is at 72.7W and Echo 8 is at 77W now. So what he is saying above is his information is for 110W. At one time Echo 6, Echo 8 was 110W. Hope This Helps !!

True, Woodcreeker. Thanks for clarifying. I gave the info straight from the box. I usually only use the sat numbers instead of the names.

Re: Channel 193 (Science channel gone from map)
Ok, sounds good so far. In the midst of writing this reply, I found my missing channel 193 by first doing:
1) a basic auto scan of E7, Ciel2, and E10,11 2) turning off port 2 to E10,11 and turning it on for E8,10 (thought they are one in the same, they are listed separately in the antenna aiming list) 3) Turning off port 2 to E8,10 and turning it back on for E10,11 i did have a lot of duplicate channels to remove, but this was the only way i found it could work. When I tune into channel 193, it does state E8,10, but now works. Voila! Now the only question I have is since I have two different satellite listings (e8,10 and E10,11), is it safe to turn both on to port 2 or is that a conflict somewhere?
